Learn Three Unique Ways To Use A Picture Frame

Blog

Many people think that picture frames can only be used to display pictures. It's important to be creative when it comes to decorating and using picture frames in nontraditional ways can be a great way to add décor to your home without spending a lot of money. The following guide walks you through a few ideas for how to use picture frames in unique ways.

Create a Necklace Holder

Go to a home improvement store and buy small knobs to attach to the frame. Create small holes into the frame that are roughly an inch away from one another with a drill. Screw the knobs into each hole that you created. Place a mirror in the opening of the frame so that you can look at yourself as you put on your jewelry in the morning. Hang the jewelry holder somewhere in your bedroom or bathroom and then hang necklaces and bracelets onto the knobs that you added to the frame.

Frame a Plant

Place a small plant inside of a beautiful flower pot. Hang a small shelf on the wall that is large enough to hold the flower pot with ease. Remove the glass and backing of the frame and hang the frame around the shelf. Place the plant on the shelf and it will look like a 3D piece of art when someone looks at it.

Create a Hair Clip Holder

Purchase decorative ribbon at a craft store that is roughly one inch thick. Flip a frame over so that the back of the frame is pointing toward the sky. Measure the ribbon so that it goes from one end of the frame to the other end of the frame. You will be attaching the ribbon to the frame so you need to be sure that it is long enough. Use a permanent glue to attach the ribbon to the back of the frame. Be sure that you pull it so that it is taut and the ribbon will stay in place when you place the clips on it. Allow the glue to dry overnight and then hang the frame near a mirror so you can see what you are doing when adding the clips to your hair. Place clips onto the ribbons so you can display them as if they were artwork when you are not using them.

All of these crafts take a very short time to do and are not overly expensive. They allow you to use frames you already have in unique and interesting ways to add amazing decorative elements to your home quickly and easily.

Perfecting Your Place

One day, after inviting a new friend to my house, I could tell that my place needed a few updates. She commented on the older decor, and I knew that it was time to make a few changes. Instead of ignoring the outdated curtains and interesting knick-knacks, I zeroed in on one room at a time, and started to transform the space with new rugs, interesting pictures, and new accessories. You wouldn't believe how much my place transformed before my eyes. Within a few weeks, my apartment started to look brand new, modern, and edgy. This blog is all about making your space into something beautiful.
